What we offer

At Zenbudo Dojo, we offer a well-rounded martial arts program rooted in Seidokan Karate, combining traditional Okinawan Shorin Ryu kata with practical bunkai (application), self-defense, and close-quarters techniques like grappling, joint locks and throws from Motobu Undundi. Students also train in kickboxing for conditioning and live striking, as well as Seitei Iaido to cultivate focus and precision through Japanese swordsmanship. Our kobudo program includes both core and extended Okinawan and Japanese weaponry. Whether you're seeking personal growth, physical discipline, or functional self-defense, Zenbudo Dojo provides a complete and inclusive path for all martial artists.

Philosophy

Zenbudo Dojo exists to guide students on a lifelong path of transformation through the martial arts. Inspired by the spirit of the phoenix, we embrace growth, endure challenges, and transform into our best selves by honoring the cycles of rising, refining, and returning to the Way.

Rooted in the classical traditions of Okinawan karate and kobudo, Zenbudo — “The Complete Martial Way” — reflects our belief that martial arts is for everyone. Whether you’re seeking discipline, confidence, stress relief, physical conditioning, or deeper self-awareness, the path offers something for all who are willing to walk it.

We welcome practitioners of all backgrounds and experience levels, fostering an inclusive community built on mutual respect, personal responsibility, and the pursuit of excellence — in and out of the dojo.

Mission

At Zenbudo Dojo, our mission is to uphold the spirit of traditional Okinawan martial arts while fostering an inclusive environment where practitioners of all backgrounds and experiences can grow in skill, character, and understanding.

Rooted in the teachings of Seidokan, we follow a path that values the balance of kata and application, the integration of striking, grappling, and weapons, and the cultivation of humility, discipline, and respect. We believe that true mastery lies not only in technique, but in the development of a strong mind, a resilient body, and a compassionate heart.

ZenbudoThe Complete Martial Way — reflects our commitment to honoring the old while embracing the new, supporting each student’s unique journey, and guiding them toward a deeper connection with themselves, their training, and the traditions they carry forward.
