Zenbudo Dojo
Self-Defense Course

Our Women’s Self-Defense program focuses on practical skills that enhance personal safety, awareness, and confidence in everyday situations. Training emphasizes recognizing potential threats early, setting boundaries, and making effective decisions under stress. The goal is to provide students with realistic tools they can rely on, regardless of size or strength.

Classes teach situational awareness, verbal skills, and physical self-defense techniques designed to address common attacks such as grabs, holds, and close-range assaults. Emphasis is placed on escaping danger, creating distance, and getting to safety rather than prolonged confrontation. Techniques are taught progressively in a controlled and supportive environment.

Instruction is based on traditional martial arts principles adapted for modern self-defense. Students learn how to use balance, leverage, and body mechanics efficiently, with training paced to individual comfort levels. Drills are practical and designed to build confidence while maintaining safety and control.

This program is open to women ages 16 and up, open to all experience levels, with no prior martial arts training required. The Women’s Self-Defense program provides a respectful and empowering space where students can develop skills, confidence, and awareness that support both personal safety and long-term personal growth.

Classes will be hosted once every quarter, and consists of 4, 2 hour classes held on Saturdays.
